Who we are

Being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes forced me to understand the human body in a way most people never have to. Every choice—nutrition, movement, stress, recovery—became interconnected. That experience reshaped how I view fitness.

After years of chasing aesthetics through calorie restriction and bodybuilding-style training, I learned a hard truth: training for how your body looks often comes at the expense of what it can do. When I shifted toward fueling properly and training the body as a system, everything changed—performance, resilience, and yes, appearance too.

A fractured T8 vertebra in 2020 reinforced this belief. Recovery didn’t come from avoidance—it came from intelligent movement.

Functional Shift Training is built on capability over aesthetics, resilience over restriction, and real movement over isolated exercises. Strength and looking good are outcomes—not the goal.
